Gilbert Thomas Burnett (1800-1835)

The Floral Keepsake. A selection of forty-eight accurately coloured figures of tender and hardy useful and ornamental plants. London: George Willis, [n.d but circa 1868]. 4 (273 x 210mm). Hand-coloured lithographic frontispiece and 48 plates by C. Chabot. (Title and a few other text leaves spotted or browned.) Original blue cloth, upper cover elaborately blocked in gilt on upper cover, the lower cover with the same design in blind (light bumping to extremities). Provenance: Miss S. Asquith (school prize presentation inscription dated 1868).

A rare work not in any of the standard bibliographies, probably based on Burnett's Plantae utiliores (1839-1850), published in 4 volumes with 260 plates printed by Chabot after his sister's original drawings.
