EXTREMELY RARE, THE MOST DESIRABLE OF THE FLOWN COVERS

The Apollo 11 crew carried a limited number of postal covers on their historic lunar landing mission. This cover was designed by the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center Stamp Club and has a lunar exploration scene cachet. The crew was quarantined to prevent possible contamination from "Moon germs" until August 11 which included all items carried on the flight. The covers could not be postmarked until release which is indicated with a hand stamp that reads: "Delayed in quarantine at Lunar Receiving Laboratory, M.S.C. - Houston, Texas". SIGNED BY NEIL ARMSTRONG, MICHAEL COLLINS, AND INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY BUZZ ALDRIN with: "EEA-4, Carried to the Moon on Apollo 11.. RARELY SEEN AT SALE, NEARLY ALL IN THE PRIVATE COLLECTIONS OF THE APOLLO 11 CREW. [With:] Typed letter signed by Aldrin. (2)
