A George IV oak and mahogany cross-banded longcase clock, first quarter 19th century
The hood with swan neck pediment and outset reeded columns, the square top trunk door flanked by fluted 3/4 length pilasters, with raised panel to the trunk door on block feet, the 13in. square white dial with floral spandrels and conforming decoration to the centre, subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture, later brass hands, with retouched signature William Evans Darowen, with falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 83in. (213cm.) high
