With black lacquer ground; decoration in gold and polychrome togidashi-e embellished with gold lacquer; compartments and risers gold nashiji; rims gold lacquer

On one side Enma-O, the King of Hell, confronting a sinful samurai who has fallen before him en dshabill; on the reverse Raijin the thunder-god with his drum and drumsticks, above him clouds, thunder and lightning
