A pair of Meissen Dutch-decorated teabowls and saucers
Circa 1730, the decoration slightly later
Painted with pheonix perched on flowering shrubs issuing from rockwork and with flowering branches and insects, the teabowls and the undersides of the saucers with radiating iron-red and gilt-veined acanthus leaves, and the teabowls with pheonix and insects in flight (one teabowl with small footrim chip, the other with slight crack to footrim, slight wear to enamels of both saucers and some flaking of enamel of pheonix on one teabowl) (2)
