A Meissen model of a pug dog
Circa 1745
Modelled by J.J. Kndler, seated on its haunches to the right, with black muzzle and tail, its coat with dark-brown markings, wearing a gilt-eged puce collar with gilt bells and tied with a turquoise rosette, on a rectangular white cushion with indianische Blumen, the gilt line border suspending tassels at each corner (tip of tail restored, minute chipping to ears, minute wear to enamels and gilding)
