God will/soon be here and we shall miss our chance to/have a good grumble about the way the humans/treat us, so Ben Rome, the big horse from The Rome/Mill, and Dr. Curry's little pony set off to hurry them/along. As soon as they arrived at the farm gate./The cats were ready, and the Queen thought the new/hats that all the other animals wore, very smart/indeed, "Come along" she said, "Tom you must lead/because you have to conduct the singing of Christians/awake as soon as the church clock chimes midnight."/Then Tom said he would like the little pigs to follow/-then the sheep, and walking two by two the cows/and horses. Just as they got to Hopkinmill, God/arrived and listened gravely to them until the clock/struck midnight - Tom climbed upon his box, raised his/baton and loud and clear came Christians awake - It/was Christmas Day in the year 1907.'
