Mother Promised George
signed 'HELEN BRADLEY' and with a fly (lower right), signed again, dated and inscribed 'Mother promised to let George and I see/the Punch and judy show but we had/a long way to walk along the sands/when we got there it had just/begun and everybody enjoyed it so/much that we had not noticed the tide/creeping in. When the show was/over we had to walk back to South/Shore along the Promenade because/all the golden sands were covered/by the sea, and the year was 1907/Helen Layfield Bradley 1972' (on a label attached to the backboard)
