DAOGUANG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD
The exterior with four medallions, one of the cowherd Chien Niu, another of the Spinning Maid, Zhi Nu, and two of landscapes, reserved on a purplish-blue ground incised with an allover feathery scroll pattern and enlivened with pink, blue, and yellow vaporous clouds, the interior decorated in underglaze blue with a scene of the lovers meeting on their bridge of magpies, the well with magpies and vaporous clouds--5 7/8in. (14.9cm.) diam.
