The case with later skirting to the plinth inlaid with profuse floral marquetry within a foliate marquetry border, similarily inlaid floral marquetry D-ended panels within ebonised mouldings, central lenticle, floral marquetry convex throat moulding to the flat-top hood with twist columns, later sound fret, the 11 in. square dial signed John Stanton Londini Fecit on the silvered chapter ring, later hands, the matted centre with ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds ring and decorated calendar aperture, winged cherub-and-foliate spandrels, the associated two train movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on a bell; with alterations
