A good M-1874 helmet with steel skull, gilt peak binding, fittings and crest with black horsehair mane and ornate gilt frontal socket with red bristle plume, gilt bayleaf chinscales, the internal headband of fine tooled leather (now fitted with scarlet feather side-plume - not shown in photograph).
