A Victorian mahogany longcase clock, mid 19th century
The hood with swan neck pediment and outset turned part baluster columns, glass broken, the trunk with short wavy arch top door flanked by chamfered angles, with plain plinth raised on turned feet, the 13in. white dial painted to the arch with scene of a farmer's wife and son feeding chickens and to the spandrels with a cottage and a church, with subsidiary seconds and date dials to the centre signed R. TURNBULL..., brass hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement and pinned directly to the dial -- 84in. (215cm.) high
