Pattern or Trial striking of obverse die for a Crown, 1818, by Benedetto Pistrucci, struck in lead on a very large flan, laureate bust right, similar to currency, truncation tooled, PIST very faint below, date below, die flaw running above date from left to right, GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX F:D:, toothed border, rev. blank, edge plain (L&S 190), edge knock, black spot in hair, otherwise practically as struck, of the highest rarity
