Specialist note

The present work can be dated to the late 1620s-30s by comparison with, for example, the Rocky Landscape with a Castle, with David Koetser, Zurich, 1985; and the Mountain Landscape with Travellers, with Waterman, Amsterdam, 1977 (see K. Ertz, Josse de Momper der Jngere, 1986, p. 543, no. 270, pl. 301; and p. 608, no. 528).
