Lot Essay

The present work seems to have been executed by one of the pupils of Frans van Mieris, and like the Boy with a Birdcage by Caspar Netscher of 1665 formerly with Thos. Agnews, London, it is based on the painting by Frans van Mieris of the same year, now in the Gemldegalerie, Karlsruhe, Inv. no. 273.
