An Officer's Forage Cap of the Royal Fusiliers
A peaked cap, circa 1914, bearing good badge, as KK 597 but with Grenade and Guelphic Crown in gold/silver embroidery, the ball of the grenade mounted with small white metal Rose within a gilt Garter, the motto in incised lettering (now without enamel backing); together with a typewritten note, probably from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, stating that this cap belonged to Lieutenant John Venables Scudamore of the 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, who died at Gallipoli in April 1915.
