A faon de Venise 'cold-painted' devotional flask
Early 18th Century, Venice
Of hexagonal form with alternate clear and pincered ornament at the angles, painted a freddo with a half-length figure of St. Nicholas raising his right hand in blessing and with a sailing ship, fountain and three further figures, the short flared neck with a vermicular collar at the base and on three bun feet (short crack to one side)
