The case with brass handle to dome top, decorated overall in red, blue and gilt with chinoiserie designs, sound fret to the rear door and glazed panels to the sides, the brass dial with winged mask spandrels to the narrow silvered chapter ring signed ELLIOT LONDON (sic) with further retail signature to the centre Boodle & Dunthorne Chester and also Elliott London, with chime/silent lever by III, blued steel trefoil hands, the triple barrel movement with platform escapement, with selection for Whittington or Westminster chimes on eight horizontal gongs -- 11½in. (29cm.) high
