Painted with figures in landscapes, the cup with a boy playing with his spaniel, the saucer with a recumbent lamb beside a shepherdess's straw hat, each reserved on the bleu nouveau ground within a gilt band, the border gilt with laurel entrelac between the scalloped edges of a gilt seeded ground
