signed TROUGHTON & SIMMS LONDON, further inscribed on the horizontal plate Clark, CA, the telescope with rack and pinion focusing, the lens hood with dust slide, eyepiece with spider's web adjusters and shade, with graduated bubble level, the axis supporting the detachable cross bubble and the 5-inch vertical circle, with silvered scale, two verniers, eyepieces, raised on twin A-frames incorporating the tangent-screw fine adjustment over the horizontal plate, with level and cross bubble, one A-frame with lamp attachment, the horizontal silvered chamfered scale with twin verniers and folding magnifiers, tangent-screw fine adjustment, against a spring with clamp, with trough compass and four-screw tripod attachment, in the original mahogany case with carrying strap -- 14in. (35.5cm.) wide
