A KOZUKA DEPICTING A SHISHI AND TWO OTHERS
Edo period (19th century)
A shakudo nanako kozuka inlaid in high relief with a gold shishi, the back mi-parti gold and shakudo, with signature Soyo and a kao; another of shibuichi with iroe takazogan of a man being attacked by a rat, signed Onshi Ryuzan with a kao; and shakudo nanako with swallows in shakudo silver and gilt takazogan, with a stream and foliage in low inlay of silver, copper and gilt, with signature Goto Hokkyo Ichijo and a kao (3)

Lot Essay

The first is probably by one of the Mito artist who were adept at copying all the great master of sword fittings, 'Onshi' on the second piece means 'recluse'.
