A shakudo kozuka with vines with butterflies and insects in gilt and silver hirazogan, Kaga school; shakudo nanako, a crane above swirling waves in gilt and shakudo takazogan, Goto school; shakudo nanako, carved and inlaid with two swallows, one caught in a gilt fishing net, signed Enjo saku - Goto Mitsumasa with a kao; shakudo a monkey and crab in silver and copper takazogan, gilt details, with signature Ishiguro Masaaki; shibuichi, carved and inlaid with Daruma in copper and gilt with signature Katsuryuken Masayoshi; shibuichi, chiselled with a hawk perched on a snow-covered tree, silver details, with signature Ishiguro Masayoshi; shibuichi, with Shoki in katakiri, signed Sekijoken Motozane with a kao (7)

Lot Essay

The attribution to Goto Enjo on the third piece appears to have been added later and the kozuka was almost certainly made by Mitsumasa (Goto Jitsujo 1694-1742).
