AN AIKUCHI BLADE ASCRIBED TO KANESADA IN SILVERED MOUNTS, A SILVER MOUNTED WAKIZASHI AND ANOTHER
The first blade, hirazikuri, iorimune, musori, ko-itamehada with ji-nie, gunome hamon of nie with a wide habuchi and muneyaki, a horimono of a suken in a koshi-bi on the omote, gomabashi on the ura, ubu nakago (cleaned), mei: Kanesada, 16th/17th century, 9½in. (24cm.); in its bark textured silvered mounting, silvered menuki formed as kiku, a similar kanamono on the saya, copper kozuka formed as a bridge post, 19th century; the second blade, honzukuri, iorimune, torii zori with extended chugissaki, nagare itamehada with ji-nie, gunome hamon of nie with ashi and sunagashi, pointed o-maru boshi, bo-hi both sides, ubu nakago, mei: Noshu ju Kanefusa, 16th century, 193/8in.
