A PAIR OF SILVER MOUNTED TSUIKI-JIPPO [ENAMEL ON BEATEN SILVER] CANDLESTICKS
Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
Each of cylindrical section and decorated in various coloured enamels and silver wire, the first with sprays of iris and chrysanthemums, bellflowers and foliage within two shaped panels on a dark blue ground, the other with sprays of lotus buds and leaves, each mounted with a base and mouth in chased silver with stylised chrysanthemums and scrolling ferns
