TWO PAIRS OF CLOISONNÉ VASES
Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
One of ovoid section raised on three gilt metal feet and similarly decorated in various coloured enamels and silver wire with ho-o birds in flight among stylised chrysanthemum buds scattered on alternate green and yellow horizontal strips, the neck with a band of stylised flowers within lozenges above a band of key-fret pattern, gilt rims, silght bruises to one vase; another of ovoid section and similarly decorated in various coloured enamels and silver wire, the first vase with cranes in flight among scrolling clouds circling around Mount Fuji and the other with cranes standing by a river, fine hairline cracks to one vase
