Signed Dainihon Kyoto-fu Ryuzan tsukuru [made by Ryuzan of Kyoto City, Japan], Meiji period (late 19th century)
Decorated in brightly coloured enamels and gilt, with numerous insects including dragonflies, bees, grasshoppers, and beetles beneath a dense band of flowers, the interior with a thousand-butterfly design
9in. (23cm.) diam.
