Painted by Sophie Liénard and signed, the half-length figure slightly turned to his left, in high collar and neckerchief and brown and black jacket, in a gilt-metal frame stamped with scrolls and foliage within a burr-walnut rectangular surround surmounted by a giltmetal cockerel Gaulois (very minor scratching to surface)
