A Ludwigsburg figure emblematic of Music
Circa 1765, blue crowned interlaced C mark, incised N.Z.
Modelled by Joseph Nees as a lady, in a gilt and puce flowered dress, seated before an oval table with a music score and holding a scroll in her right hand, a book and medals at her side, the table supported by three cornucopiæ filled with medals, necklaces and jewels and with a pile of books beneath her feet, her chair with cabriole legs and upholstered in blue diaper material, her dog at her left side, on gilt-fringed green drapery on a rectangular base (half of scroll lacking from right hand)
