The case with handle to the caddy top, double-moulded cornice above the front door inlaid with boxwood and ebony chequer stringing, the moulded base on bracket feet, the engraved brass dial signed James Allan, Kilmarnock in the centre of the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced steel hands, foliate engraving to the spandrels and to the arch, the five pillar twin fusee movement with verge escapement and strike/trip repeat on a bell, the backplate engraved with flowerheads and foliage with a central urn within a foliate engraved roundel
