The case with brass handle to inverted bell top, later pierced ebony frets to the sides, the moulded base on block feet, the dial signed Rainsford, Leicester Square on a silvered plaque in the matted centre with mock pendulum aperture, baskets-of-fruit spandrels, pendulum regulation ring in the arch, the five pillar single wire fusee movement with silent verge escapement, the spring-suspended pendulum hung from the regulation bar, now lacking pull quarter repeat, pendulum holdfast to the foliate engraved backplate
