A Composite 22-Bore German (Bavarian) Wheel-Lock Sporting Carbine

With associated swamped octagonal sighted barrel cut with seven grooves (tang and touch-hole altered, fore-sight replaced) and struck on the underside of the breech with an orb and cross mark (similar to Neue Støckel 8483), signed flat lock engraved with scrolling foliage involving the demi-figure of Hercules, integral raised wheel-cover, and sliding pan-cover, the cock and the fence to the cock-spring each engraved with a marine monster, the side-nails fitted with winged extensions for manual operation, full stock with fluted fore-end (repaired) inlaid with later natural staghorn on the butt, and on the cheek-piece with an oval white staghorn panel engraved with a stag and a hind in a landscape, engraved indented iron trigger-guard (cracked, a working replacement), set trigger, wooden patch-box cover faced with natural staghorn (replaced), and horn butt-plate, later natural staghorn fore-end cap, iron ramrod-pipe, and wooden ramrod with natural horn tip (iron parts with some pitting, removed from the barrel)
