Under the direction of talented winemaker Charles Thomas, production of Cardinale has been scaled back and little expense has been spared to make this winery a leading producer of ultra-premium California red wine. The largest component of the blend is Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from high-altitude vineyards on Mt. Veeder, Howell Mountain, and Alexander Mountain above Alexander Valley in Sonoma. The five-liter bottle of 1997 Cardinale offered below is unique.
