Cast as a hawk of greenish-grey patina on a rocky outcropping trying to catch a monkey who is hiding under a ledge between the bird's feet, the feathers flush-inlaid in silver and gold, the eyes of both animals in gold, a design of squirrels, grapes, frogs and lotus incised into the separately-cast oval plinth and inlaid in gilt and silver
