A Rare Dated Blue and White Bowl
Wanli six-character mark with the cyclical date wuyin, corresponding to 1578, in underglaze blue within a double circle and of the period
The deep rounded sides vigorously painted on the exterior with two winged dragons racing amidst clouds and flames in pursuit of flaming pearls above a band of waves and below a lengthy inscription, the interior decorated with fish and water weeds above a leaping carp in the center, the eight-character mark written on the base
