Lot Essay

This commode is conceived in the transitional phase between the early 18th Century and the mid-18th Century, retaining its three layers of drawers and the indication of a separate stand, while already conceived in the full rococo form. A model for a related commode is illustrated in M. Medica, 'Museo Civico d'Arte Industriale e Galleria Davia Bargellini', Catalogue, Bologna, 1987, p. 168, cat. 103.
