Lot Essay

This guitar was lent to Clapton by the Producer, John Porter for a live performance at the Hammersmith Odeon, London as part of the British Tour, 27th April, 1977. This concert was recorded and and the pickups on Clapton's trademark Fender were producing too much of a buzz so he used this Gibson Les Paul instead because the humbucking pickups were more suited for recording purposes.
