An unusual mid 19th-Century brass and ferrous metal model twin cylinder horizontal mill engine
with brass-bound mahogany-lagged cylinders 1in. bore x 2in. stroke, cylinder head draincocks, centrally mounted valve chests with inlet pipes, studded stuffing boxes, pedestal mounted bar type crosshead guides, gibbed and cottered little ends, marine type big ends, disc cranks and spoked flywheel, metal floor, finished in red and green with yellow lining and polished brightwork and mounted on a mahogany plinth with 'gilded' decoration -- 11 x 16in. (28 x 40.6cm.)
