Lot Essay

A handwritten note in the case signed by the late owner reads: 'The serial number on each of these pistols is 7348. They came from Scotland and were made with straight stocks in the style of the brass barrel fish-tail butt Scottish Dag - To the whim of a Scottish laird. An identical pistol in my collection is numbered 7349. Probably made for the same family - & one of a pair also from Scotland.'
