A 25-Bore French Flintlock Holster Pistol

With two-stage barrel with turned moulding at the muzzle, turned girdle, and partly fluted octagonal then sixteen-sided breech section, secured together with the false breech by the rear side-nail, signed border engraved rounded lock, moulded finely figured walnut full stock (cracks and old repairs, fore-end tip replaced) with raised apron at the barrel tang and pronounced swelling near the ramrod tail-pipe, and inlaid with silver wire scrolls and owner's monogram 'MR' and coronet in silver wire instead of an escutcheon, iron mounts including pierced scroll side-plate, baluster ramrod-pipes (one later), and later iron-capped ramrod
