Lot Essay

This model, reference 6062, was the first Rolex wristwatch to integrate day, date, month and phases of the moon. It was produced in a small series in the 1950's and examples with the star-shaped numerals on the dial are particularly rare.

A similar watch is illustrated in Rolex Wristwatches by J.M. Dowling & J.P. Hess, p. 204.
