Of compressed globular form with cylindrical neck, carved through the blue layer to the opaque white ground with flowering foliage rising from rockwork beneath a lappet and ruyi band, the neck with bats and cloud bands below leaf blades at the rim

Lot Essay

Another bottle of the same height and similar shape, also with blue glass overlaying the opaque white, but with an overall design lacking the ruyi, lappet and blade bands of the current vase, is illustrated in A Chorus of Colors, San Francisco, 1995, no. 94.
