Conceived circa 1890-1900 and cast in 1970 in a numbered edition of twelve plus one proof for the collection of the Musée Rodin.

This work is a combination of the large Clenched Hand and Despairing Adolescent, a rough model made in 1882 for one of Ugolino's sons.
