Document letter, signed 'George R' at the head, St. James's, 25 March 1789, 1½pp with integral blank leaf, folio, to Sir Charles Gould, 'Judge Advocate General of our Forces', an order for the holding of court martials to punish mutiny, desertion and other misdemeanors against 'the Rules of Military Discipline' and giving them powers to enforce appropriate punishment, embossed seal, countersigned by Sydney at the foot, and annotated in another hand on the reverse (creased on folds with some small tears to same).
