Sean Capiaux founded Capiaux Cellars in 1994 while working at Peter Michael Winery. This producer specializes in small lots of vineyard designated Pinot Noir from California such as Widdoes from Russian River, Demostene from Sonoma County and Pisoni in the Santa Lucia Highlands in order to express a unique character of the vineyard and region. Only high quality, low yielding, select clonal grapes are purchased - including bud wood from the La Tâche vineyard - and all the wines are naturally fermented, unfined and unfiltered to preserve their natural flavors and taste. Production is exceptionally limited.
