ST HENRI
St. Henri holds a unique position in the Penfolds portfolio. It is a wine with individuality and a long pedigree, made in a fruit driven style, virtually alone among high quality Australian reds in that it has never relied on new oak. Time in large old oak vats gives 'maturation character' - fruit flavour development without the complexing contribution of oak-derived flavours. St. Henri is pure unadorned Shiraz, with a cabernet component in recent vintages, for stucture, not flavour.
