Two Glienitz parrot-jugs and covers
Circa 1765
Modelled as parrots perched on curved branches issuing from short tree-stumps, their necks forming spouts and the covers formed as the upper part of their heads, the branches extending up to their shoulders to form handles, painted in grand and petit feu colours with turquoise, yellow and blue plumage, the wings with blue markings, the ochre beaks and clawed feet with dark-brown markings (one with shallow chip to underside of wing, the other with restored chipping to tree-stump, tail with firing crack and very slight flaking)
