A Sevres cup and trembleuse saucer
1764, blue interlaced L's enclosing date letter L, painter's mark s for P-A. Méreaud, incised i and 8 to cup and ou to saucer
The cup of tapering cylindrical form with entwined double loop handle with gilt foliage terminals, painted with garlands of flowers suspended from a border with two blue-ground white dot-ornament gilt diaper panels between purple and gilt bands, divided by two oval quatrefoil gilt panels with garlands of laurel enclosing gilt dot-ornament about two purple flowerhead medallions, the saucer similarly decorated, gilt dentil rims (cup with wear to gilt rim, saucer with slight wear to gilt rim)
