The case painted with flowers and baskets of fruit and surmounted by a cut glass temple supported on six glass columns and flanked by gilt-metal urn finials, four further cut glass orb finials with crescent moon surmounts to each angle supported on glass columns to the case angles, the sides with brass handles and foliate cast gilt-metal sound frets, the base on gilt-metal foliate scroll feet, the dial signed Henry Borrell, London, on the restored white enamel chapter disc with Turkish numerals and later pierced brass hands, later brass ferrules in the winding apertures, subsidiary white enamel discs above for chime/not chime and six tune selection; DANCE; SAMAHE; BENI-SACIT; SABAC-SHAFIF; USCHAC-DEVIR DANCE, the mask delicately painted with sprays of summer flowers on a blue ground, the five pillar triple wire fusee movement with knife-edge verge escapement chiming on twelve bells via twelve hammers and with hour strike on a further bell planted on the backplate profusely engraved sprays with flowers and centred by a basket of flowers above the signature engraved Henry Borrell, London
