Gold Dollars
$1, 1854 Type I. AU-58 (PCGS). Sharply struck with frosty gold lustre and splashes of pale orange toning. This is a fairly plentiful date, although most extant examples are below this in terms of grade. Here is what will probably be an inexpensive coin, a great opportunity for anyone interested in a single example from the S.S. Central America treasure. Moreover, this is the only gold dollar certified by PCGS as part of the S.S. Central America treasure.
