A Meissen composite part tea-service
Circa 1750, blue crossed swords marks, various Pressnummern and incised marks, painter's puce 48. mark to the teapot and cover and the sugar-bowl and cover
Painted with bouquets, flower-sprays and fruit within moulded C-scroll cartouches, the spoon-tray with an Altbrandenstein border, the flower finials, scroll handles and spouts enriched in purple and dark-brown, gilt line rims, comprising:
A baluster hot-milk jug and cover (slight chips to finial)
A globular teapot and cover (slight chips to finial)
A slop-bowl (two rim chips)
A squat-baluster sugar-bowl and cover (slight chips to finial and footrim)
An arched rectangular tea-caddy and a cover (chips to rim of cover and finial and very minor chip to base, part of the branch of the finial lacking and flaking to enamels of finial)
A shaped oval spoon-tray
Twelve tea-cups and twelve saucers, one of the cups with gilding to handle and rim (one handle lacking, two with handles cracked and two cups cracked, rim chip to one saucer and footrim chip to another)
